Hooters international swimsuit pageant is a swimsuit competition that is organizes in America every year. Columbus, OH Hooters girl LeAngela Davis was crowned Miss Hooters International 2010. Leangela Davis will proudly represent Hooters for a period of a year. She won prize money of $50,000 and a crown.
This was the 14th annual Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant that was held in Lauderdale, FL on July 10th. Not only does the winner receive many prizes and wonderful opportunities along with the crown, but she also gets featured in the Hooters Magazine, national marketing campaigns and also TV commercials for a span of 4 years.
LeAngela got selected among 100 other Hooters Girl contestants. These contestants had travelled from all across the world to represent the Hooters’ other 455 locations around 29 countries. These contestants were judged on evening gowns to swimsuit. The panel of judges were Chelsea Lately’s Chuy Bravo; reality TV series Survivor star and former Hooters Girl, Jerri Manthey; E! Entertainment host Michael Yo; rock musician Ryan Cabrera and former member of Pussycat Dolls, Ashley Roberts. The show was broadcast live on Spike TV and was hosted by Dan Cortese and backstage co-host Carrie Keagan.
This competition is not just about beauty. Only the contestant who encompasses beauty and personality gets to bag away the prize. This year’s winner is not only gorgeous, but Beth Taylor, the pageant director said that she is also well spoken, outgoing and also has the ability to make everyone smile around her.
Not just the winner but the other top 4 finalists too received cash prizes. Rachel Mortenson, the first runner up represented Phoenix, AZ and she received prize money of $15,000. The second runner up Ashleigh Dunn represented Newnan, GA and received prize money of $10,000. The third runner up Susan Murray, represented Katy, TX and won the prize money of $8,000, on the fourth place was Janet Layug who was representing Lakeland, FL, she won $7,000. All the top 10 finalists received $2,000 each. The names of the top ten finalists in no particular order were, Theresa Trujillo, Chelsie Hurst, Elizabeth Johnston, Tia Jackson, and Lindsey Way.
The award for the miss photogenic went to Sam Arena who was representing Hooters of Cumberland, GA in Atlanta. She received a professional photo shoot which values $5,000. Miss Congeniality was given away to Jamaica Nicolson from South Africa, she received $2,000. Miss Hooters World Award was given to Naty Gaviria representing Colombia.
