There was a recent Sports and Technology Survey conducted by the CEA or the Consumer Electronics Association. This survey has revealed that traditional print media and other forms of media are growing increasingly redundant for sports fans who would rather use the Internet to keep track of their favorite games. While some watch the entire events online, there are others who would catch clips or highlights on the Internet, while very few have admitted that they will use some kind of printed media to update themselves.

The survey did some other findings as well and that included the people who watch high definition. If given a choice most people have chosen to watch the game in HD rather than going
to the place and watching it live. They would rather watch the games in the comfort of their living rooms. This trend of watching it in high definition has been continuing since the last year. Hence the trend is not a new one and continues into this year.  There were 83% of the sports fans who watched their games in HD last year and they have said that they prefer it that way.

Also, among all those people who have watched at least one live game last year, around 42% have said that they still prefer to watch their games on their HD. Also, since the Winter Olympics which is happening this year, about 12% of the sports fans have actually bought a High Definition television set for the exact purpose of watching the Winter Olympics in a better way. Basically High definition television gives them a much better viewing experience than watching it live and they would rather have it that way.
