Vertical Landing Achieved by F-35
Can you imagine the military possibilities of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Vertical Landing having been achieved? This only means that military aviation has reached new heights for the US Military that also gives USA’s allied nations also reason enough to celebrate as security for their nations will only be strengthened if fighter aircrafts like this one can actually achieve landing in such constricted air pads like the one where this test landing was actually achieved.

This air pad was ninety five square meters in area which is a very constricted space for a supersonic stealth fighter aircraft to actually land, and so the landing was attempted to be done vertically and was actually achieved on the first attempt itself which is what is enough to be celebrated. This was the first attempt and of course there will have to be many more trails through this program for the Short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) that has been begun and the trials for which are still being carried out at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.

The F-35 particular aircraft that achieved this feat was the F-35 BF-1, which is part of a three member team of aircrafts that are being used to test the vertical landing within confined spaces. The engine that is being used in all the three aircrafts is the F1 35 which also happens to be the most powerful engine that has ever been used in a fighter plane, leave alone of this capacity.

Like mentioned before, this is definitely a great milestone for the program as they have been able to prove the landing capabilities of this supersonic aircraft both for its landing abilities on land as well as on water. However further tests will be carried out to improvise on this and perfect the vertical landing capabilities.
