The Idiot Box Just Got Smarter
The television has become an important part of one’s lives in the past few decades. A source of entertainment, knowledge and information, it is so much more than an object owned by someone. The entertainment quotient the television brings in the form of well-crafted television series, cultural shows and sports broadcasts is truly unmatched. It provides a wonderful distraction from the humdrum of the average daily life.

However, it is not desirable for us to stay in front of the television throughout the day as one has to work and socialize. In the process, one misses out on favorite shows, the news and various other forms of entertainment one benefits from the television.

The problem of not being able to catch up on favorite shows has plagued television lovers for years and years. In the recent past, a new technology has revolutionized television watching for the better. No longer does one have to worry about the problem of not being able to catch one’s favorite shows. DVR is the answer to all the problems.
DVR (Digital Video Recorder) Technology has broken new ground in television viewing giving the viewers the unbelievable prospect of recording television shows. Unlike Video Cassette Recorders, DVR technology does not require any form of magnetic tapes or any other form of external hard copy. It empowers the user with more control, enabling them to decide when and how they watch their shows.

Many DVR machines have the option of dual turners, using which it is possible to record a program while viewing another. Live telecast become more fun with DVR technology because the user can ‘’replay’’ live shows in case they miss out on any action and also, use slow motion to watch the live telecast. Sporting events on the television will never be the same with DVR and HD technologies. In case one forgets to schedule a recording of a show, one can also use the internet to connect to their DVR and fix the problem.
